The Courthouse occupies the former site of the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court. Hoad & More’s brief was to create a feature that would incorporate the Art Deco and Georgian aesthetic already prevalent throughout Westminster. Using the shapes and outlines often seen in Art Deco style, we designed 14 hanging pendants ranging from 1200mm to 440mm square. The piece plays with geometric structures to offer visitors new perspectives from every angle. Each pendant is illuminated using LEDs and finished in patinated bronze to bring a richness of tone and warmth into the space. The entire piece spans 1960 x 3400mm and has made a striking addition to a location already rich with history.
